Robson Valley Jr Academy e-NABLE | BC, Canada

Have your community activities changed during the last several months?

Please summarize your efforts

We went from working on prosthetics to printing face shields and ear guards. A student’s parent who worked at a local hospital helped to connect us to clinicians who needed support. We designed a face shield as well as a top cover that clips in to protext from droplets. We donated 50 face shield to McBride District Hospital and the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

Our students have been involved in the process. All devices were given for free.
This video summarizes our efforts along with this local article.

We are now getting back to doing some prosthetics again.

What are the current needs of your community?

What are the current needs for your chapter and activities?

We could use more people involved who have CAD skills.

Have you received promotional filament to support your efforts?

How have you used these materials?

No filament support needed

Have you partnered with any other chapters, groups, or organizations?

What advice can you offer for others working to contribute to their community needs?

In the Spring we were involved in 4 chapters with e-NABLE partners in England, Ecuador, New Jersey, and Calgary. While our PPE efforts were local, we returned to work on prosthetics in June. Our first set of hands for a recipient were recently completed and packaged for delivery! The students did a great job.
