From sculpting ocular prosthetics to crowdsourcing affordable 3D-printed hands, this exhibition surveys the past, present, and future of prosthetic design on a global scale. Visitors will explore the evolution and design process behind a range of prostheses through visual stories, historical surveys, videos, and interactive models. Over 40 stories – from DIY-kid inventors to amputees who use mind-controlled bionic limbs – explore the collaborative process between people who use prostheses, clinicians, and innovators all using design to impact people’s lives and mobility.
